Scott’ History

2018

I first decided to get myself into the construction industry back in 2018 when I left college halfway through my two-year course. At the time, I was studying engineering, which initially seemed exciting. However, I soon lost interest in it. That’s when I chose to enter the construction industry full-time, securing a job building extensions, patios, and handling renovations, among other construction projects. Over the next four years, I gained valuable experience and developed my skills significantly.

Among all the tasks, I enjoyed bricklaying the most, and I was fortunate enough to work with a builder who was both patient and willing to train me in the trade. As a result, by the end of my time there, I had significantly improved my bricklaying skills, along with other building techniques needed to complete extensions. Looking back, it was a great period of growth, largely due to the responsibilities I was given on these jobs.

Towards the end of my time at that job, I opened a marketing agency with my two cousins in September 2022. Like many in my generation, we had the idea of making a living online while working from anywhere in the world as we traveled. At first, it seemed like an exciting venture. However, like the naive young adults we were (and it wasn’t that long ago), we believed it would bring us joy. Unfortunately, we soon realized that this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, I knew six months before we officially closed the business that it wasn’t working out.

During this time, I held a construction job alongside the business to pay the bills and get me out of the house. Ultimately, we decided to shut the business down because we weren’t enjoying it at all.

I began going to church in 2023 and started to build my faith in God. Fast forward to today, and I now feel called to serve those in my community—especially those who may not be able to afford fully qualified tradesmen but still need quality work done. Interestingly, this is the very purpose I was searching for when I started the marketing agency.

Shifting my focus from myself to helping others has brought me immense excitement and a deep sense of fulfillment. As a result, I feel truly honored to embark on this new journey!
